US Players – Delay in UIGEA Regulations

Rumours were confirmed and addittional information has been revealed regarding the fact that U.S. Treasury Department may delay the enforcement date of the UIGEA.
Rep. Barney Frank officially stated what is expected be done: "The Treasury Secretary has accepted the PPA’s petition for a delay of 6 months."
The PPA has not commented on the statements so far and they state that they are waiting for the official word from the Treasury Department.
It is hoped that the additional time span will give a chance for bills HR 2266 and HR 2267 to repeal the UIGEA.
US Poker Championship

The 2009 U.S. Poker Championship ended last Wednesday at Taj Mahal, Atlantic City. The Champion was William Brindise who defeated Men “the Master” Nguyen in heads-up challenge, claiming the Main Event and a prize of $261,800.
In Main Event’s final table, Brian Lemke also took part, known as the 2009 World Series of Poker bracelet winner. Lemke, Justin Shronk’s cousin earned $46,200 and the fifth place.
The Main Event had
- 154 players
- $770,000 total prize pool
The PLO event had
– only 32 players
- $80,000 total prize pool.

The Football Association of Republic of Ireland, have announced that they will complain to FIFA about the illegal goal scored from France, after Thierry Henry touched the ball with his hand and gave the goal assist, that decided the qualifier. FAI claim that the decision was incorrect and it should be a fair replay of the game against France.
